Step
One - Using found wood shape and carve the
fish body and fins. The piece measured 221/2
inches long by 12 inches high. Eye socket was drilled
and the wooden eye shaped to fit.
Step
Two - Fins glued in place and the piece was
then sanded. Scales, fins and other characteristics
were carved and wood burned into the piece.
Step
Three - After a final fine sanding the piece
was painted using an acrylic wash technique. The wash
is applied in several layers to produce the desired
hues and luminosity.
